Guidelines
We accept previously published works, but you must own all rights. Simultaneous submissions are encouraged, but let us know if your works are accepted elsewhere. All rights revert back to the author upon publication. Please mention in future publications your work was featured here.
We accept up to three poems, three prose pieces, and three pieces of visual art at a time. Submissions are on a rolling basis. We do not accept works that endorse hatred based on race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexuality, disabilities, etc.
We reply to submissions with accept, revise, or reject. If your work is said to be revised, you can continue with the editorial process and edit your work accordingly.
Format
Send your submissions to forthesonorous@gmail.com with your first and last name and the category of your submission (poetry, prose, art) as the subject heading. Include a short third-person biography. All works are read blindly, so do not include your name or any identifying information on your submission documents.
Poetry should be typed in Times New Roman, size 12 font, single-spaced. Prose should be typed in Times New Roman, size 12 font, double-spaced. Poems should be 150 lines or less. Prose pieces should be between 300 to 3,000 words. Send poetry and prose in separate documents in .doc(x) formats. Send art in .jpeg, .png, .tiff, or .gif formats. Do not copy and paste submissions to emails.
